Catering for large events, without the compromise

Serving a large event

TL;DR

Numbers change the menu, the service style and the staffing.
We seat around 150 and cater larger numbers for standing and casual formats.
We bring the kitchen, the kit and the team, and handle setup and clear-down.
Dietary needs are labelled and planned in, however big the guest list.

Catering for large events is less about bigger portions and more about planning. Once the numbers climb, the menu, the service style and the staffing all have to change together, or the day drags. We cater large events across Buckinghamshire, London and the home counties, and here is how we keep a big guest count feeling effortless.

Numbers change everything

A menu that sings for forty can fall apart at two hundred. Dishes that need last-minute plating do not scale, so at larger numbers we lean on food that holds its quality through a longer service. We plan the menu around the count from the start, not the other way around.

The venue and the timings matter just as much. The more guests, the more the running order has to be planned so the food keeps moving and no one is left waiting.

Service styles that work at scale

We seat around 150 guests for a plated meal, and cater larger numbers for standing, buffet and grazing formats. Tray service and generous sharing tables move a big crowd quickly, while a seated dinner gives a large event its formal moments.

The right choice depends on your space and your numbers, which we work out with you. Our grazing tables and stations are a strong fit for large, relaxed events.

The logistics behind a big event

A large event lives or dies on what happens behind the scenes. We bring our own cooking and serving equipment, staff the event with chefs, servers and bar, and arrive hours ahead to set up and stay to clear down. We can work from a venue kitchen or a gazebo kitchen we bring ourselves.

All we need from the venue is power, water and parking. Everything else travels with us.

Dietary needs at scale

The bigger the guest list, the more dietary needs it holds, and clear labelling saves everyone time. We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free and halal diets and mark dishes plainly.

We handle allergies carefully in the kitchen and on service, and hold a five-star food hygiene rating. You can read how we approach this on our dietary requirements page.

Frequently asked questions

We seat around 150 guests for a plated meal and cater larger numbers for standing, buffet and grazing formats. The right approach depends on your venue and service style, which we plan with you. Tell us your numbers and the space, and we will confirm what works and how the day would run.

For a big standing crowd, buffet, grazing tables and tray service move people quickly and keep the food generous. For a formal large event, a seated dinner up to around 150 works well. We plan the style around your numbers, venue and the mood you want, so the food never becomes a bottleneck.

Earlier is always safer for larger events, as they take more planning and lock up more of our diary. The sooner you share your date, numbers and venue, the more smoothly it runs. If your date is close it is still worth asking, as we can sometimes accommodate shorter timelines depending on the scale.
